It is getting oh so close to the time of year many
anglers, like myself look forward to. The beginning of
the 2009 J&J Lake Norman Winter Bass Fishing Trail.
Once again this year there is a Saturday and a Sunday
Trail. The saturday dates are: December 6, 20, 27.
January 3, 17, 31 and the championship on February 14th.
Sundays dates are: December 7, 14. January 11, 25.
February 1, 8 and the championship on the 15th.
The championship is again a two day event where the top
20 from both days trails can fish either or both and
take their best weight.
One thing different this year is the points structure.
The points will again be 1 point per pound with 3 show
up points. The difference comes in on the 4th and 5th
event. Those will be DOUBLE points. The last 2 events
will be TRIPLE points. So getting off to a good start is
as always very important, but you can really make up
some ground in the latter events if you messed up in an
early one.
All events will have a 9 am blast off and a 4 pm weigh
in. This is a great thing in tat in the early events,
fog can be bad and in the later events extreme cold days
are not quite as bad at 9 am as they would be at 7 am.

NEW POINTS SYSTEM FOR 2009 NORMAN WINTER TRAIL
Points shall be awarded for each contestant one point per
pound plus three bonus show points. points will double
for the 4th and 5th tournament for the
Saturday and Sunday trail. Points will triple for the last
two tournaments on the Saturday and Sunday trail. Top 20
teams from each trail Qualify to Fish the Championship.
